IT for Healthcare Practices

Your schedule is booked out weeks or months. We can’t create more time, so the job is protecting the schedule.

When systems go down you don’t lose a day, you lose appointment slots you can’t get back, and your patients ride the delay.

The practices we support

Copperband supports dental offices, oral surgery centers, primary care, podiatry, and pharmacy across Clarksville, Hopkinsville, Nashville, and Southern Kentucky. Different specialties, but from an IT perspective they run on the same skeleton: a practice management or EHR system, clinical equipment tied to specific workstations, and integrations like e-prescribing and imaging that all have to talk to each other. As more of that software moves to hosted platforms, the vendors who control it are less and less likely to be in your building. That doesn’t reduce the IT work. It changes it into coordination.

What we do for these practices

  • Coordinate the vendors. Imaging, e-prescribing, EHR, practice management, and the internet provider all have to work together, and each one will tell you the problem is somewhere else. We sit in the middle of those calls so your office manager doesn’t have to. That is a large part of what supporting a practice actually is.
  • Run the systems around your clinical software. We’re not your EHR or practice management vendor. We run the servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, and network underneath them, and when a problem crosses into the vendor’s territory we work it with them.
  • Support clinical equipment with its dependencies in mind. Imaging systems in dental and oral surgery, and diagnostic and pharmacy equipment on the medical side, are tied to specific workstations, drivers, and vendor configurations. We treat those workstations differently from an ordinary office PC when we plan updates and replacements.
  • Back up what you’d need first. We back up and monitor the systems a practice depends on and chase failures when they happen, because a backup that hasn’t run isn’t a backup.

Where compliance lands

We sign the Business Associate Agreement. We help you assemble the technical documentation that supports your compliance program. And because a BAA is a real obligation on our side too, we require a baseline before we take it on: supported operating systems, multi-factor authentication on remote and email access, managed endpoint protection, and monitored backups. We’ll tell you plainly what we own and what stays on your side of the line.

“As a healthcare practice, HIPAA and HITECH compliance is not optional for us. Copperband understood that from day one and built our systems around it.”
