The building is open to the public, the hours run past five, and a lot of the technology is sitting right in front of customers rather than behind a desk: guest wifi, cameras, phones, and large-format displays.
How We Work in Retail and Hospitality
- Guest wifi, kept away from everything else. The public gets a network, your business gets a separate one, and the two stay separated. We build the guest side too, including the captive portal people see when they connect, with your branding, terms, and where they go afterward.
- Cameras and recorders. We install, replace, and troubleshoot camera systems and the recorders behind them, including getting remote viewing working across locations. A camera covering a register, a lot, or a hallway is not decoration, and when one goes dark somebody needs to be there.
- More than one location. Several of these businesses run multiple stores. That means a firewall at each one, a VPN so the locations can securely reach the systems they share, and public IP addresses that change when a provider decides to change them. We manage all of them together, watch each site’s connection, and know a store is down before the manager calls.
- Two circuits, because one is not enough. When the primary internet drops in a store, restaurant, or hotel, a surprising amount of the business can stop with it. We put in a second circuit where it makes sense, monitor both, and get alerted the moment one fails rather than finding out from a customer.
- Work that happens after you close. Firewall upgrades, switch replacements, large-format display work, and cutovers get scheduled after the last table or the last sale, not in the middle of your afternoon. Phones too, including the extension in the taproom and the routing that decides who picks up when the front is busy.
