Calhoun & Company Receives the January 2026 Quality Service Award
Calhoun & Company, PLLC received the January 2026 Quality Service Award, presented on February 5 by the Christian County Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Copperband Technologies.
The firm opened in 1995, but its roots in the area run back to 1976, when founder Earl Calhoun came home from Lexington. Fifty years of the same family name over the door in the same community.
What it built is unusually broad for a rural practice: bank clients, farm operations running from part time acreage to several thousand acres, businesses from small shops to enterprises well past a hundred million in annual sales, and large not for profits.
Three partners run it now, with experience ranging from twenty years to the firm’s entire existence. Jaime Petersen is managing partner, Karen Kreil leads assurance services, and Debbie Fuller leads tax. Staff sit on charitable and professional boards at local, state and national level.
Calhoun’s own summary is the best one: big enough to provide high level services, small enough to know clients personally. In their words the work is often hand holding, sitting with someone until the problem has an answer.
